What is Paratransit?
Our ADA Paratransit Service is a dedicated door-to-door shared transportation service for people with disabilities who are unable to use RTC’s regular fixed-route buses. This service is provided in full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, which guarantees equal transportation access for people with disabilities. Paratransit service extends ¾ of a mile beyond RTC’s fixed-route bus lines. Areas not served by fixed routes are not covered by Paratransit.
All certified paratransit customers are eligible and encouraged to use fixed-route or express route service free of charge.
Trained Drivers
Paratransit drivers are specially trained in disability sensitivity, securement techniques, and ADA compliance to ensure safe and respectful travel.
ADA-Accessible Vehicles
All paratransit shuttles are equipped with ramps or lifts to accommodate wheelchairs, scooters, and other mobility devices.
24/7 Availability
Rides are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays, to ensure access when you need it.
Convenient Online Booking
Schedule your paratransit rides easily through the myrideRTC Para online portal—no phone call required.
