How it Works

As a certified RTC paratransit rider, you may be assigned one of several ride types based on your mobility level and individual needs. RTC will schedule your trip using the most appropriate option for you.

All ride types:

  • Cost starting at $3 per ride

ADA Dedicated Service

Paratransit Service

RTC’s Paratransit Service is the primary ride option for certified riders. It provides reliable, door-to-door transportation for people who are unable to use the regular RTC bus system independently due to a disability or health condition. This service is designed to support your independence while keeping travel simple and safe.

Key Features

  • All rides use vehicles that meet ADA requirements. You may ride in a van or shuttle equipped with either a lift or a ramp—both are fully accessible. Riders cannot request a specific type of vehicle or boarding device.
  • Securements for mobility devices
  • Drivers receive specialized ADA and disability sensitivity training
  • Curb-to-curb or door-to-door assistance
Non-Dedicated Service

ParaFlex

ParaFlex helps ease the stress on Paratransit Service. Riders who opt-in can expect either an RTC paratransit vehicle or a partner-provided private vehicle to arrive during your scheduled pickup window.

Key Features

  • Request rides in our myrideRTC Para app, online, or by phone
  • Paratransit staff will identify eligible paratransit rides to be provided by non-dedicated service providers
  • Curb-to-curb or light door assistance
  • Not wheelchair or scooter accessible

Opting in to the program does not affect RTC Paratransit eligibility.

You may be eligible for this ride if:
You are ADA paratransit certified, able to transfer independently, and do not use a wheelchair, scooter, or non-folding walker.
