How Streets and Highways Works
Streets and Highways (S&H) engineering department is part of the RTC’s Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). S&H manages local funding from the Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax, Sales Tax, and Fuel Revenue Indexing to support roadway and trail projects.
We work closely with our member agencies—Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Mesquite, Boulder City, and Unincorporated Clark County—to fund the design, construction, and maintenance of regional roads.
Our focus is on major streets that carry high traffic, connect cities, and cross major barriers—like those shown on the Regional Master Plan. Local neighborhood roads are not part of this program.
