How it Works
ParaFlex+ lets eligible paratransit riders enjoy the flexibility of same-day, on-demand service and real-time ride tracking through RTC’s partnership with Lyft. Most trips arrive within minutes, and you pay the first $3 of the fare. RTC covers the rest up to a set subsidy amount (about a 10‑mile trip). The service operates in the same area as RTC Paratransit, and you can keep using standard paratransit if you meet your monthly ride limit.
Customers with the Lyft app can schedule rides within minutes. Non-Lyft riders, please call the Customer Service team at (702) 676-1801.
To use ParaFlex+, customers must meet the following criteria:
- Be a frequent Paratransit rider based on your past trips
- Have access to a smartphone, tablet, or computer — or be able to call to book rides
- Be able to travel without assistance from a caregiver or escort

Program Details
Monthly Ride Limit
Each ParaFlex+ rider has a monthly ride cap.
- This limit is based on your past 6 months of RTC Paratransit ride history.
- You should still be able to travel as usual without changing your routine.
- If you use all your ParaFlex+ trips for the month, you can still book rides using standard RTC Paratransit service.
Ride Cost
- You pay the first $3 of the ride.
- RTC covers the next portion—enough for about a 10-mile trip.
- If your trip costs more than the subsidy or goes beyond 10 miles, you’ll need to cover the extra amount.
- You’ll see the final cost before confirming your ride.
- Fees may apply if you cancel late or miss your ride without notice.
Service Area
- ParaFlex+ is available in the same area as RTC Paratransit.

Who Can Use This Program
- You must be a permanent RTC Paratransit-certified rider.
- The program is designed for frequent Paratransit users.
Debit Card Usage
If you use a debit card to pay for your ParaFlex+ rides, please know that your financial institution may place a temporary hold on funds in addition to the cost of the ride. This temporary holding of funds, or authorizations, can take anywhere from 3 to 5 business days to drop off.
Driver Routing
ParaFlex+ relies on Google Maps for the most efficient routing. Google Maps analyzes many factors, including traffic conditions, traffic congestion, detours, etc. This can lead to alternate routing and possibly different pricing despite traveling to the same locations. Drivers may take alternate routes to avoid construction, blocked roads, or heavy traffic.

How to Book a Ride
Before You Schedule
- You must be pre-approved to participate in the Ride On-Demand program and be paratransit certified
- Check to see if you are in our paratransit service area
- If placing a ride by phone, have your Paratransit ID number handy
How to Fund Your Account
If using the Lyft app:
- Set up your own account with your own debit or credit card information for payment.
If prepaying for trips:
- Make payments in person at 600 S Grand Central Parkway Monday – Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Or mail a check or money order to:
